To Freeze the Shifting Phantasmagoria, curated by Kelly Lindner, investigates the diverse strategies emerging in contemporary painting. Highlighting work by five California artists (Emily Davis Adams, Lisa Adams, Yoon Lee, Kara Maria, and Leah Rosenberg) the exhibition reveals an energized proliferation of an age-old media that has been influenced by digital technology, the history of abstraction, installation art, as well as social and political concerns.

*For this exhibition, “What Goes Around”, made while in residence at Recology in 2019, was reinstalled with the remaining paint mixed. The colored square that the marble round is installed is the resulting color when those marble colors are fully mixed. Documentation by Jason Halley.
